A little story

Jul 18, 2005 21:03

At midnight I was forth in line at the bookstore. There were several children in front of me with their parents, a little old lady behind me and about a hundred people behind her.

Its the final count 5 minutes and everyone is fidgeting in line. They start going down the line asking trivia questions. I get mine wrong, the little old lady behind me is kicking everyones ass and has the most points.

All of a sudden this lady from the back of the line walks up to the display where the store clerk is standing and is going to hand out books, pushes the lady aside and grabs a book.

Now we've got something like 3minutes at this point.

The store clerk asks the lady for the book back and tells her to get to the end of the line. The lady hits her with the book. HITS HER.

Thankfully Not in the face but in the chest and arm with the book.

And throws it on the floor. She doens't mutter one word the whole time.

Then goes to the back of the line giving everyone dirty looks, needless to say they throw her out of the store.

I just stood there in shock.

Its a childrens book, a book, there was violence over a book...

I must say society sickens me sometimes.

I did finish the book last night. I'm not sure if I like it or not. At first I hated and thought it was badly written... It almost seemed out of character for everyone, Harry wasn't mooning over Sirius death which I half expected him to do. Dumbledore came off as weak, Snape... I don't know about Snape.

The whole Remus Tonks thing was just bizarre, was there anything in Order of the Phornix that even hinted at this, though I did like the fact that he's so much older than her... it makes me believe Snape /Harry still have a chance... though I don't know How.

The ending of this book totally distroys my next story... So I guess now I'm a AU writer.

To me this book just ended so suddenly, I actually thought for a moment I was missing pages... It just seemed to stop... I needed more. Her next book better be 2000 pages.
