as it usually does,
when i find a band/musician that i really dig, i spread the word. some of my friends bite the bait, some just write it off as another one of my "weird unheard bands". then they get noticed, get bigger & get listened to. then everyone (and i mean my students that don't listen to independent/indie music) starts listening to them. so far it's been with jack johnson, ray lamontagne, i saw regina spektor on vh1 the other day, and now gym class heroes. i'm sure this time next year i'll hear students talking about them and think back to the other day when i went to see them open for fall out boy...
