Whoohoo! Hoorah me!
Whooooooooohoooooo! So I got a call early yesterday that a position may have opened up for the Tech School I actually wanted to join, and that my recruiter could pas the paperwork through if I was willing to change my ship out date. Needless to say having the job I wanted definately was the selling point. Don't get me wrong working in the mechanical field would be interesting but working on engines and getting a degree in mechanical engineering really doesn't suit me very well. Car repair was definately where I screwed the pooch on previous testing. Not that the pooch didn't enjoy the screwing. But now my droogs, I will not be leaving until Dec 9th. Okay. I big push for the ship date but that is when I have to move if I am to make the 6 month long training courses when next they start. And hey, I suppose finishing a degree in Civil Engineering with a specialisation in Demolitions really ain't so bad. Yes. Crazy huh. The military will pay me, to play with explosives, and some of my work converts into credits to a Civil Engineering degree. Not exactly the field I was expecting to be working on, but if I get to play with nifty robotic machines and learn how to create new ways to disarm IEDs then I am all in. I think I will still try to finish my anthropology degree, or at least get those criminology courses I always wanted to take. And that my droogs, calls for a Horrah me!
