Quite a strange place, this city. Certainly nothing like what I would expect to see at home. But no matter - if Fate chose to play this card, then nothing for it but to take what comes.

And besides, the greater the gamble, the greater the earnings.

Indeed. I believe that now that I have taken down the Queen of Hearts Fate will be my next victim.

I have no intention of losing to a player like that.

I don't imagine anyone does. But life's a game of chance that we all play. Sooner or later someone must lose.

I don't play to lose. I can accept the loss of a battle, but I refuse to lose the war, no matter what the cost.

One does what one can.

And in my case, I've discovered there's always a way out. Fate would only have you think they're so crafty a player that you cannot win.
