background; Haru is a simple girl, second generation Japanese. Her father is a prestigious mathematician at another prestigious university in the United Kingdom. Her mother is an anthropologist. With parents like these, it's no wonder Haru's something of a genius herself, and extremely passionate about maths, computers and languages. Her dream is to become a cryptographer, or something equally dangerous. Because her biggest passion is DANGER.
Okay, not really. She loves mysteries, and loves pretending she's a spy, and loves people, especially talking to them--which is why she joined the newspaper in the first place.
Although she can come off as idiotic at first, it's in the little details that you realize she's amazingly smart. Personality-wise, she is bubbly, easily amused, head strong, determined, defender of all things small, innocent and cute, very firm in her convictions, adventurous, outgoing, and quite possibly has no sense of danger whatsoever. Someone please stop her before she jumps off a bridge.
