Brian's hips pressed solidly up against Gene's ass, his thin lips brushing against that soft skin through his hair. The younger man had been staring out the window for days, watching the ocean as if waiting for something, anything, but specifically even Brian knew, someone.
"He's gone," Brian murmured after several long minutes, his own eyes never leaving the waves that sparkled and crashed against the beach as if in glorious defiance of Gene's emotional state. "And you need a shower," he added, wrinkling his nose at the black jeans and black hoodie his best friend had lived in for the past two weeks.
Gene just leaned forward to rest his elbows on the window sill, hair falling in his eyes. "I don'tcare," he muttered, nose pressing against the glass.
Frustration and fear welled through Brian like a tidal wave, and he grabbed the smaller man by the hips and spun him around. If he'd been angry before, the utter stillness in Gene's usually bright eyes sent a bolt of cold rage shuddering through him. Cursing Jimmy under his breath, Brian dragged Gene in for a hungry, desperate kiss. "Fuck him, Gene. I wouldn't ever leave you."
