The price of pasta

Date with SD went well, but I had a slight area of concern. We were sitting in my favourite restaurant, which is an upmarket Italian place, and whilst browsing through the menu he decided to have a pizza instead of pasta because:
“This may sound stingy, but you can buy a whole bag of pasta at Sainsbury’s for about 60p, so spending £10 on some pasta stings a bit.”
What??

I realize that dining out in a nice restaurant is a luxury commodity, but for goodness sake it’s not like we were dining at the Ivy, is it? It just put a slight wave of worry into my head. Maybe I’m being too harsh, after all I’ve no idea what his salary is so maybe we should go for Pizza Hut next time. Or not. I don’t want to risk food poisoning after all.

Other than that he was the same sweet bloke I went to the cinema with, we talked a lot, ate, etc, and then walked back to the tube station. I showed him a dress in Dorothy Perkins that I was so tempted to buy and he didn’t look bored stiff, much to his credit. He was even brave enough to give me a quick hug & a kiss on the cheek this time! And is already planning the next one - will probably be lunch either this Thursday or Friday.

Oh and he’s a tad on the boring side. But maybe that’s cos I was very, very tired yesterday evening after my weekend of sin in the Southwest.

stingy, date, awkward, dinner
