I've had this opinion of Moffat since the start but recently more and more Sherlock/Doctor Who fans have also started to see this.
Moffat has to be one of the most arrogant 'writers' in Britain, seriously he just doesn't get that he isn't the best in the world nor does he add anything new to the fandoms that he talks shit about and takes the piss out of quite frequently.
The way he speaks about his adaption of Holmes is like he's somehow created the best version of Holmes, that every female character that Doyle introduced was boring and lacked background whilst he managed to create an 'oh-so-fab' female character called Molly Hooper; whom is actually quite dull herself when you really look at her.
I like Molly, I really do but Moffat is preaching that she's this incredible and revolutionary female character in the Sherlock world when she bloody well isn't. Moffat turned her from a girl that most of the population could sort of relate to, to a woman who is engaged to a reasonable bloke (Tom) but is still asking Sherlock out on a date in the very first episode lusting after the detective like a pathetic puppy. Turning her into a woman who emasculates her fiance in front of an entire wedding hall and spends most of her time staring daggers at any female that goes near Sherlock at said wedding even though her loved up and loyal fiance is standing right beside her unaware of her facial expressions that are hidden by the angle her head is at.
I don't understand why Moffat continued to write Molly in this manner, they could have kept her engaged, there wasn't any reason for her to still be into Sherlock other than for comedy effect which I know is the reason they made her engagement fail. It's such a load of bullshit because seeing Molly with her now smug smirk on her face doesn't make people like her or respect her anymore, it's incredibly irritating seeing her try to win Sherlock over when there was nothing of the sort in the stories.
In case you forgot, Moffat, Molly didn't actually exist in canon and if Sherlock were to, by some fucking miracle, be interested in somebody (male or female) then I think I can safely say that most of the fandom would like it to be a character that already existed in the canon material.
Anyway.
I have read thousands of articles where Moffat has blubbered on about bullshit Doctor Who/Sherlock storylines that have plot holes bigger than fricking Saturn and when my eyes cast downward towards the comment section I see nothing but fans wishing he would leave Doctor Who and leave Mark Gatiss to write Sherlock by himself as he seems to be the one who actually knows things about Sherlock Holmes whereas Moffat just makes shit up.
These are just a few of my own personal thoughts at the moment, I'm not writing all of them down because I'd be kicked off the site for saying what I truly think about this man's attitude.
