Is that to be considered a prompt that you wish to discuss the dreams? Or a rhetorical statement.

This mention of enlightened essence intrigues me, but since I could use some fresh tea, your project intrigues me all the more, and I may be able to rally a colleague or two to assist you.

I could talk about them. I am not afraid.

Enlightened essence? Surely you've heard of it before. As for fresh tea - who could not use some? I still have a little left over if you'd like to share, and discuss the business of growing.

I am curious how the tower operates, to lull all in its sight to sleep. It's an enchantment similar to those I have heard of before, but never have I heard of the peculiar property of shared dreams bound up with them.

It sounds like a magical material? I would, if we are to remain here for an extended period.

The only way I've ever heard of sharing thought vanished a few days ago. Unless the Tower has agents to put torcs on us as we sleep, I'm out of explanations.

I was never really one for enchantment or sorcery. My education was much more focused on marketable things.

A material, no - it refers to a person's life force, and having enough activated to put it to use performing supernatural acts. So far, I can tell it's made me a better sailor.

I usually take my tea at dawn, but if that is too early for you I could just as easily put it off for a few hours.

I'm sure there is an explanation. I intend to delineate its boundaries of control.

To favor the market over the occult leaves one no less shrewd. Indeed, when it comes to these gods, a skilled barterer may prove himself worthy indeed.

Ah, I see. Talents. Gifts. A focused affinity towards the manipulation of a particular element, or force. That is something I am familiar with.

By dawn's light is fine. It is of little difference to me.

"Delineate its -" you have me at an advantage.

Haha, perhaps you are flattering me too much. I still have to take account of what I have to bargain with.

Well, I'm no Dragonblooded, so elements might not be my strength, but perhaps in time I'll find some useful ways to channel my power. I'm rather new to it.

Excellent! You honor me by accompanying me in my morning ritual. All my family are devotees of the tea ceremony. What I ship, more often than not, is tea.

To determine how we might resist the flow of...undesirable visions.

Indeed. We all do.

Oh? Well, provided you proceed with reasonable caution, I think you should continue to work at developing and harnessing it. This world could certainly benefit from useful power, and would be well received.

Then I can hold high expectations. Excellent.

Someone had better ask for a different climate too. It's too cold and dry here for tea.

That, or a greenhouse. Though if it snows in the winter, even that won't be good enough.

I was considering an indoor alternative. And in any case, it's going to take a while before the plants are ready to go in the ground no matter what I do. I can't make full-grown tea plants spring out of nothing, even if I CAN make them grow faster.

I'm not even sure I can do that yet. Oh well. More time to think.

I don't know yet.

I'll figure something out, it'll probably work.

Hn.

Well if you get a proper greenhouse and some cuttings or seeds, I can probably help.

Assuming you don't let clueless people in to mess things up.

Oh, the guest list will be heavily screened. I don't allow tomfoolery in any of MY tea-based establishments.

What's your name, friend?

Ashoka. It's a pleasure to meet you, Kanda. Am I to understand you have agricultural experience?

Some. Mostly ornamentals and exotics, herbs, things like that. I had a heated greenhouse for the warm-climate plants, though.
