Seohyun hates Kyuhyun because she has too.
(They're SM's best official, unofficial couple - and they're not real enough for her to actually learn to love him. For her to actually learn to like him, ever. They're not enough, never will be - there's too much hype for them to actually be true.)
So, she goes to Yonghwa, because he's unexpected and new and people wouldn't send her dead animals in the mail or anything like that if she falls in love with him. Kyuhyun is forsaken and too good for her, because everyone knows that.
(Even herself.)
Because hate is easier, he learns to hate her too.
They learn to hate each other because it's so much simpler than actually accepting the fluttering of hearts and swelling of lungs - the strange, dull ache in both of their rib cages.
(but mostly Kyuhyun's, because he'll never get to hold her hand the way Yonghwa does. Not publicly, anyways.)
And eventually, they also learn how to hold hands under tables and share hugs in abandoned dressing rooms. They're just a typical SM love story, honestly. Forbidden lovers - so forbidden that people actually want them to be together, but it isn't going to happen.
Tiny, little mistakes build up. Slowly, but surely, and Seohyun starts to see them too. They ruin the established order she has set for herself. They are overflowing almost, and Seohyun might want to drown in them soon.
Kyuhyun is her favorite mistake, always.
(And sometime, somewhere along the road they realize that it really isn't a mistake.
Just probably one of the most correct things they have done in a long time.)
