she is a self righteous dork in all of her rights, and he simply loves it.
he simply loves .. her.
he can't really put his finger on it, (and he really shouldn't put his finger anywhere near the subject), but onew cannot help but find her memorizing. although he doesn't mind hearing her say 'oh! oh! oh, oh! oppa, i love you', his eyes can't help but be glued to the screen when he tells her she'll have her revenge (run devil devil, run run)
so when she personally comes to congratulate him on their lucifer promotions, and mind you - personally congratulate JUST him, he recognizes the weakness building up in his knees, and he considers taking minho's seat in the next performance. because he can sit and look incredibly good as well.
and onew thinks him and taeyeon make a good pair of leaders, completely brushing off leeteuk who gives them some short coming yet joking glares in the sm lounge, when onew praises his noona in affectionate glances and continuous offers to get her a pudding cup. he definitely knows that taeyeon will never, EVER, look at her junior in that way - but hell. does that stop him from trying?

but if it worked for jonghyun and jessica, who ever said it would not work for him!
after the pestering from maknae taemin and the threats of losing her to key - from key, onew asks around snsd and has come to the conclusion that she has no particular favorite flower; but she really does enjoy her pudding. so he wings it and buys her a sunflower (although it would have been so much more clever if he had bought it for sunny), and hands it to her after one of their stages in smtown.
'only because i thought you would get an abundant amount of roses,' he stutters, happy it is a bit dark back stage so she can't see his face which is most likely flushed red from embarrassment.
because how much cheesier could he get?
yet all that doesn't matter when God conveniently times the lighting to shine just a little back there, and in that split second he sees that (beautiful) smile of hers, and he realizes it does not matter how corny he has to get just to see her smile like that.
taeyeon thinks he is the dorkiest person she knows, buying her a sunflower at a time like this. and she agrees, it would have been so much more clever if he bought it for sunny - but no, it is for her, and for a moment taeyeon can say she hasn't felt her heart beat faster than this before -even when she is on stage.
she gets nervous and utters a shy 'jinki!' but that is barely audible as she bows ninety degrees, 'gamsahabnida!' and taeyeon simply brushes by him, excited to walk in with the flower and have the questions poured onto her by her other members, and she won't be embarrassed to say where it comes from.
and in that moment where he feels her brush against him, onew feels electric, and he decides that his love for her is simply shocking.
