[Flicker flicker, and the image emerges, but it's difficult to tell at first that it truly has pulled clear from the usual interference. But, watching carefully, one can see that it has and it now shows a view of the straight, gray trunks of the trees at the edges of town in the sudden and unexpected summer snow. The snow is still falling.

Everything seems still at first. But, just then, a horse snuffles and stamps, and the image sways a little. Looks like it's the usual trick: hang the Network device from the horn of the saddle and carry on. The saddle creaks, there are the expected accompanying jingling sounds, and the owner of horse, saddle, and Network device comes down into view.

He looks into the device at first (and he seems to have known it was on this time). He has snow on his hat and on his shoulders, and the poncho actually seems to be packed up for the time being. It wasn't warm enough. Instead, he's gotten himself a long, tan duster sort of thing. Given the look of the it, he's probably not the first owner and maybe not the second. It's worn but it looks warm. Like the rifle and any number of other things, you can ask where he got it, but...

Now, as out of place as he looks at the moment, he's been up around the Rockies and other points North in his life. Being down around the south Texas border means he hasn't seen snow in some time, but he's seen it before. All right, maybe not in the middle of summer down in these lowlands like the City's in. That's the real issue here, isn't it?

He moves aside a little bit and keeps himself half in view and half out, leaning against his horse, looking out beyond at the snow and the trees. And all he has to say is...]

I guess stranger things have happened.

[There's a half-smile for you as he turns back. A quick check of the saddle, a pat on the shoulder for the horse, and he climbs up again. The view of the summertime trees in the snow lingers for a moment. He gets the horse to walking again before reaching down to close the device again, which sends the feed back into that other electronic snow and mist and fog with a--]

[ooc: For the fans, yes, the coat is basically the twin of the last canon badass longcoat seen before the acquisition of the poncho. I like the badass longcoat. Shush. Tomorrow, he and the horse will probably be flopping through the snow like some might-have-been Jeremiah Johnson scene (Wikipedia that trivia >>;;). Also, I love how this curse happens right during one of the most extreme IRL heat waves I have ever endured ;3; Network and action threads welcome. He'll be walking around today. Throw a snowball at him, I dare you!]
