So I was thinking about chess the other day, and it struck me that the current shapes of the pieces make no sense in conjunction with their movements. For example, what's a Rook actually meant to be? It looks like a castle thing, but moves at great speed across the board. Equally, the Knight seems to be a horse with no rider (although Lewis Carroll and John Tenniel sorted this one out). And so on and so forth. It was late. Therefore, it struck me that chess would make much more sense if it was interpreted as a highly formalised battle between different classes of chivalric cyborg troops...

The more I thought about this, the more I wanted to bash out some designs.
This was meant to be a Rook protecting a King from a Knight (Castling, see?). I may have geot a little carried away with the pipes. Yes.
