Autumn's 10 words

Starting Over

the diorama represented on the wall was me
in that pirouette  i used to complete
a dancer, i was a dancer
a good one at that
the basin of my feet carried me to a heavy situation
one that i was not ready for
in a frenzy i was snorting my life away
neglecting friends, family, and lovers...selfish, i was..
was, is the key word
i secretly eloped into a rehab that i planned for myself
quietly i rose up and held down a fort
the mission was complete
compete
street smart
and also cunning
this legacy lives on for you
i want more
and i am getting my money's worth
reunited in a tryst of pain
everyday is a battle
but i go uphill anyway
without looking back or else the troubles will come haunting...
your skin on my skin was sweet absolution to my problems, my pain, my addiction.
i was able to uplift, and start over.
