That is a curious conundrum. I would say that astronauts would be the most likely choice; though the physical power of the cavemen is no doubt stronger, it has been widely proven that the brain will overpower animal instincts in the majority of situations. Even without higher tech weapons, in mass, as I am assuming you mean due the use of plural word forms, the astronauts would not only be better at cooperating than their cave cousins, but more likely to use traps and trickery to outsmart their opponents. It is doubtful that a cave-dwelling human of the sort you are referring to would have the same mental capacity as an astronaut, and thus would be most likely to lose.
