Friday night I went to the Hollywood Bowl to see John Williams and the LA Phil. For those that don't know who he is, he composed many movie scores. Here's a small list;
Star Wars, ET, Indiana Jones, Jaws, Potter 1-3, the Olympics song, Close Encounters of the Third Kind, etc etc etc. He's a musical genius! It's been a tradition of mine to go to the Bowl during Labor Day weekend, this is the weekend he's usually there. He conducts his own scores plus a few that he didn't compose. I always enjoy the show and last night was no exception. The entirety of the first half was Potter, which I was mixed on. I loved that they did so much Potter...but at the same time I think they did too much Potter. I think ti was because they did all of that that there wasn't any time for the theme from Raiders of the Lost Ark and Jurassic Park. He always performs the Raiders song and almost always performs the Jurassic Park song, two songs I highly enjoy listening to. They could have cut two Potter songs out and there would have been enough time for it...they could have cut Aunt Marge's Waltz and The Knight Bus songs out. I like them but...I'd rather hear Raiders and Jurassic Park. They did play my two favorite Potter songs though, I was so happy to hear them! :)

Star Wars! Those lights you see in the crowd (and the one I accidently block the camera with) are Light Sabers!

My favorite Potter song; A Window To The Past. I am so in love with this song, the violin especially moves me. I start getting all a-flutter at 0:52
You don't have to like these movies to appreciate the music.
