2. Would you do meth if it was legal?
Absolutely not! I've seen photos of what it does to people that use it, I wouldn't touch it if you paid me!
3. Abortion: for or against it?
Is anybody actually for abortion? I honestly don't think anybody likes the idea behind it. Am I pro-choice? Yes. If I got pregnant and didn't want a child I would want the choice to abort it. It doesn't matter if I end up keeping the baby or putting the baby up for adoption, it's my choice to have an abortion and nobody should take that choice away from me.
4. Do you think the world would fail with a female president?
Not the world but the country would fail if a woman like Palin became president. A woman president would be fine but please keep Palin away from the Oval Office.
5. Do you believe in the death penalty?*
I'm undecided on this. On the one hand I don't like it because there will always be somebody innocent being condemned to death. On the other hand I hate having to pay to keep people like Charlie Manson in jail (and he has internet access!). I think it's a very touchy subject and every case must be examined very closely.
6. Do you wish marijuana would be legalized already?
I'm not really into the whole "legalize marijuana!!!11" crowd. I like that it's available as a medicine but as recreational drug I don't care if it gets legalized or not. Yeah, it's not as "bad" as other drugs but it's still a drug. On the other hand, caffiene and chocolate are both drugs so can't use that argument huh? Honestly, I just don't care.
7. Are you for or against premarital sex?
I think you need to be mature on when you have sex and with who. I have no business telling two consenting adults to wait until they're married to have sex. Underage people have to search themselves and see if they're ready. That's not to say I condone 14 year olds getting jiggy with it, I am under the belief that there is such a thing as "too young" (at least in this culture, not necessarily others).
As for me, I'm up in the air about it. I used to be 100% sure I'd wait until after I'm married but now, now I just know that I won't have sex unless I'm in love with the guy. If it happens before marriage that's fine as long as we're in love.
8. Do you believe in God?
I go through stages of being open minded to the existence of a god and being completely close minded about it. Right now I label myself as an atheist. I go through periods of being an atheist and being agnostic but I haven't truly believed there is a god for a long long time now. I'm not against religion though, people need to have some sort of faith. I believe that there's something after we die and I believe in reincarnation, I also have faith in science.
9. Do you think same sex marriage should be legalized?
YES! I am very passionate about this, where does the government come off telling two consenting adults what they can and cannot do? I know somebody who has been with his partner for 30+ years, why shouldn't they get married?
10. Do you think it's wrong that so many Hispanics are illegally moving to the USA?
While I think that there should be border security I also think that this country's immigration system is terrible. It's incredibly difficult to become a legal citizen here. If we fixed this system then we wouldn't have so many Hispanics crossing illegally (and putting themselves in danger). America is a country of immigrants. The only "native" are, yes, the Native Americans (First Nations in Canada, I love that term!). We need to keep this country open to those who want a new life for themselves but we also have to go about it in a responsible manner.
11. A twelve year old girl has a baby, should she keep it?
This is a difficult question. In other cultures children of this age are having babies. But this culture? I really don't know. If I had a twelve year old who had a baby I would probably urge her to give the baby up for adoption, I just personally don't like the idea of a child raising a baby. If it's not my kid though, I would leave it up to the parents of the twelve year old to decide. This question really has not answer from me.
12. Should the alcohol age be lowered to eighteen?
Even when I was eighteen I didn't believe so but I'm not strongly for or against this question.
13. Should the war in Iraq be called off?
Yes.
14. Assisted suicide is illegal: do you agree?
I disagree. For issues such as a person who left no will telling what they want to happen and they are in a position where they can't speak for themselves, that's a very difficult decision. For a person who is aware and can communicate though, it's cut and dry for me. If somebody is suffering from, say, advanced lung cancer, and they are in pain and there's no cure then they should have the right to end their life painlessly. I think it should be left up to the patient, the family, and their personal doctor. Not the hospital boards and not the government.
15. Do you believe in spanking your children?
I'm not sure. Some people say that it'll mess up your kid and I personally wouldn't spank. That said I don't think that people that spank, and just spank, are beating their kids. Would I spank my kid? Doubtful.
16. Would you burn an American flag for a million dollars?
I'd feel bad but yes. And with the money I could buy a new one. **I agree with that comment
17. Who do you think would make a better president? McCain or Obama?
