I haven't posted in a few days and I have Much to Say.
Okay, mostly just idle rambling, but whatever.
I watched Bad Day at Black Rock while I made dinner and you know how when you watch or read something a lot, the plot holes get bigger each time? Like, how did Bela know they were going to eat at Biggerson's restaurant in time to get a waitress uniform and be there ready to pour coffee?
I've never heard of Fan History until today, (and I'm not linking to it), but now that I have, wow, some people are batshit crazy and poisonously vindictive all at the same time. It's not a good combination. Outing people as fans, linking their fannish and RL identities, is despicable.
The feedback I've gotten for my Big Bang story consistently uses the word creepy, which makes me very happy.
Speaking of feedback, I didn't quite get through all the Remix stories before the reveal, but I want to finish them soon.
I thought the caliber of stories this year was wonderful.
bossymarmalade runs a hell of a challenge. And I had the pleasure of getting Maggie as my remixee, which was scary and fabulous all at the same time. And of course I just had to remix her JoshLynn story,
jc chasez, full of grace, because if anyone can identify with a middle-aged pervy mother, it's me. :) In
the Southern Comfort remix, I just thought, hmm, what would I have done? And voila, the story pretty much wrote itself.
And now,
We've been working on housebreaking Neville. He's finally asking to go out, but only because he's obsessed with chasing chipmunks, plus he doesn't like to see me sit down for more than five minutes at a time.
There are rules. Potty before party. Pee before play. Poop before pursuit. So we stand in the same spot and if he doesn't go in a few minutes, we go back in the house and try again later. If he does go, he gets to go all around the yard and hunt chipmunks to his heart's content.
He goes to the exact same trees, in the exact same order:
This one's hollow.
The woodpile:
The fish pond.
The ornamental grass.
And we do this approximately one million times a day.
