Kate never got on with technology. It was useful, and there were days back home she prayed for a tech wave to make her life easier... But that didn't mean it agreed with her. She'd had this phone a week? Maybe two. It'd taken a chunk out of the money Greg had given her for the semester, and it turned on when it wanted to, off when it wanted to, and seemed to take great joy in doing both at the least useful moments. They rarely worked right for her at home, and apparently here was no different.
Today was an 'off' day, and no amount of coaxing, wheedling, cursing and smacking it against her desk was helping.
The urge to toss the thing out the window and be done with it was rising rapidly. Unhelpful as it might be, it would be satisfying.
