Room 210 [Monday, Early Evening]

Aug 15, 2011 19:29

It'd been a while since Kate had heard anything from home. Given Greg was about all she had left, and since he was well aware of her problems with him, a lack of contact was almost to be expected. It wasn't like she encouraged it. It just reminded her of what she'd lost.

One thing Greg was, though, was polite. He remembered birthdays, he acknowledged them, he did the good and dutiful thing. Like call even when the reception he received from her was less than warm and fuzzy. She hadn't really been thinking of it at all until that call from Greg wanting to make sure he caught her to wish the best in case the magic rolled in on Atlanta tomorrow and cut the phones. She'd promised to 'do something' for him amid a large amount of eye-rolling, and grudgingly answered questions, while carefully leaving out any details about the other week in all it's grey-ness. He seemed overly suspicious of her assertion she hadn't punched anyone yet. She was a shitty liar, clearly.

Once the phone had been put down, Kate screwed up her face and flopped back on her bed. No, she had no real plans to do anything birthday related at all.
