How to back a winner...
First up, thank you very much to flipper200 & bamelia for organising tickets and such to the members area for the day. After a diversion into the regular area later in the day, I think I'll attempt to come back as a member from this point on!
In summary...
Managed some better luck that tashrocks over the day backing 3 winners (including 8 to 1 Railings in the main event for the day) that basically broke me even for the day (minus beverages).
Public transport there and back was quite unpainful amazingly. The cabbie even took us all the way to Birkenhead for some post-races muchies.
Finally got to try my new card game, Fluxx - having given it a test run, prepare to have it inflicted on you whenever you are at chez Days St.
Really started to get into the racing vibe towards the end (could have been the booze, who knows ;) ) with everyone standing around screaming at the screens - "Goooooo number 3!!". Perhaps that I backed a couple of winner too contributed to this...?
Uber (which, ironcially was the name of one of my winners from the day) snaps to tashrocks & morges for the impromptue OMGBBQ at our place, which I felt was a rather perfect way to end the day.
With mishwah out of action, tashrocks and myself have had to step up and fill the "resident photographer" shoes, so you can find my photos of the day over here
