Hermione held the warm egg in her palm, reflecting. The steam from the boiling water had caused her white hair to frizz and the scent of vinegar tickled her nose.
This was her first Easter without Draco.
Without his scathing commentary on the horror that was pastel, even as he painted his own egg a light pink.
Without his teasing flicks of dye to her nose, or spilled glitter down her shirt with promises to clean it up later.
Hermione smiled softly at the silver band on her finger as she began to paint the delicate white shell.
Without him.
