Interpretation: The lesson here is not so much in the actual words (which were covered in 002 | the First Rule) but more the act of repetition. Repetition is used to not only make a point but to emphasize it, and the point emphasized here is: Stop talking and LISTEN. To others. To yourself. Take a moment, stop using your mouth and try using your brain and your ears. You can not truly listen and talk at the same time. If you’re too busy talking, you are not hearing anything. If you aren’t hearing anything, you are certainly not learning anything. And if you are not learning anything then, really, what is the point?
Plus, you don’t want to be that self-centered egotistical bastard who talks constantly just to hear himself speak.
Don’t be that guy. Everyone hates that guy.
