Title: Green Eyes
Rating: PG
Summary: Perhaps he and Quinn could conquer this second world together, Alice and original character. Perhaps they could reel this fairytale back into reality. (Or otherwise, Blaine sees Quinn in the library and can't get over her eyes.)
Word Count: 469
A/N:I was listening to Green Eyes by Coldplay and then this happened.

Blaine had been having a bit of trouble keeping his eyes off of Quinn’s. He’d never really noticed them before, the way they were so piercingly green, the way that when they dilated they made Blaine think of a grassy meadow, one he often visited in his childhood in his dreams. A type of meadow where nothing ever mattered, where time was a stagnant concept and beauty a fluid matter. It was a type of meadow he could roll around in and not have a single damn care in the world. The type he read about in fairytales, the type that didn’t really exist.

So why was he suddenly believing in fairytales and happy endings again? In the fictional worlds of fantasy? He was standing in a library, a library he had been volunteering in for the past year and had never once let himself believe in any of the crap fairytales and books spewed about happily ever afters and beautiful princesses and deserving princes. Blaine knew he was no deserving prince, not even a beggar destined to be blessed with the gift of riches and gold. He was simply anonymous, the anonymous narrator of the fairytale who watched everyone else get their happily ever after, forever on the outside looking in.

Quinn was merely a foot away, rifling through the same section of stories he never let himself believe in, smiling to herself in the same way he always imagined heroines to do. Self accomplished but broken.

He moved over a couple of books and peeked through the space they created at her. She was flipping through Alice in Wonderland, pausing every so often to look at the illustrations scattered throughout the book. He could tell she thought they were beautiful. In truth, Blaine had always liked the idea of falling down a hole and finding yourself in a different world. He figured you could make yourself a different person there too. It was a second chance, but it was a second chance he never really believed in. That was, until now.

Alice had blue eyes, didn’t she? Blaine thought the story would be so much better if she was a green eyed heroine. Perhaps even, Blaine could be a character like the Cheshire Cat. Eyes were so symbolic of the Cheshire Cat anyways… He could float in and out, provide Quinn with guidance and wisdom, and never have to deal with the consequences if he screwed it up. Then again, he could invent a new character for himself. Someone for Alice to fall in love with… someone to help Alice through her journey… After all, he knew how horrible it felt to be alone. Perhaps he and Quinn could conquer this second world together, Alice and original character. Perhaps they could reel this fairytale back into reality.
