In Waiting

Tomorrow I go back to the R.A.H. for x-Rays and, hopefully, a walking boot. Worst case scenario - my leg is still too swollen and I have to put up with this for a couple more weeks.
Anyhoo, Presentation Night tonight, so #3 son gets his papers and it's all over. No more kids in school. A bit sad, really. Going to #1 son's beforehand to have dinner (pizza!), and also to see M.
Christmas show on Friday - must get my Secret Santa pressie tomorrow. Lucky me drew someone I really want to give a pressie to.
Ratface has tied the back screen door open for me so I can roll out by myself. Just sitting there smelling outside is such bliss. The garden is still looking picturesque. I think the Antiques Roadshow blokes would call it 'chocolate box'. The driveway side of the Shady Lady roses is exquisite, with the neon pink totally covering the bushes. The bottle brush are all out, even the ones that struggled - the lipstick pink and the orange. I hope we get the sarlon done soon - it's really saggy and does so spoil the look. I'd like to be able to trim back the ash tree just a little, and train the vine over the pergola. It's one of the most heavenly places to sit in summer.
I got up the stairs in two and a half minutes last night. A record.
The upstairs study is looking gorgeous. Ratface has started on the fireplace and discovered that the mantel is not plaster or wood, but black slate. Very excited. I think the Ikea armchair I was thinking of buying will go very nicely with that. Speaking of which, I wonder where my catalogue has disappeared to?
Ratface has just bought me in the perfect cup of tea, and a nectarine, so I'd better slink off and finish them, or my name will be mud. I keep reminding him that I'll be doing the same thing for him when he gets his hip replaced in the next couple of years. Better get my study organised, with the bed...
