♥ [Action/Training Center/Open] I have the right idea but the execution's a little weak

[Most of Rinoa's classes weren't so bad. Most of them her time traveling with SeeD had prepared her for and the others seem to just need  a bunch of studying. Thankfully she didn't mind pouring over books so that wasn't too big of a hardship. There was though one class that continued to be a struggle to adjust to, but it was the one she was

[Places Rion is normally not: The Training Center. But he figured that maybe he should work on some of his indirect magic in a more... dangerous setting.

Things Rion is not normally: busily gawking at Rinoa. This is a thing he's doing right now. He didn't know she used a GUNBLADE * A* (it's so cool!)]

[It might be cool, if she was actually good at using a gunblade, but it's pretty obvious that she's painfully new at managing the weapon as she continues to struggle against the Grat. After all, they were weak easy monsters who'd been put into the training center for that reason and yet here she was actually struggling to fight one with this new weapon.

Still it was obvious that she has no intention of giving up anytime soon, even if it could very well take all night before she actually managed to beat that single monster.]

[... unfortunately there's not much he can really ... do, other than help (and that's not something he'd like to do). Being too loud would make his presence known, but might startle her; not doing anything might startle her with his presence when she notices him. And obviously, he can't help.

... oh, whatever. Rion sort of stomps the ground, hoping she'll notice (and won't get distracted); if something happens he'll begin getting ready to, er, cast something maybe?]

[She notices the stomp and can't help but look around to see just what the noise had been. It had been too quite for a Trexuar's footsteps, but you couldn't be too careful in the training center sometimes.

Seeing someone she knew from class, she smiles and waves only to get reminded that 'hey stupid, you were fighting a monster; by a blow to the back of her head. Scowling at the monster she looked rather annoyed, but instead of blasting away at it with magic like she would have done normally, she charges in more determined than ever with her gunblade.]

[Oof. Unfortunately, he's not sure if he's supposed to interfere or not! He'll just sort of (silently) hem and haw and sort of watch and maybe he should do something but she seems like she's practicing and she's A HERO anyway she's got this right...?]

[For the most part Rinoa's just fine with fighting solo right now since one person tends to gain more experience that way or so she thinks.

The fact that he doesn't rush right in actually puts him in her good books instantly as it was nice to have someone who doesn't assume she's helpless on sight. Her determination rising, it isn't long before she manages to dispatch the Grat even with her beginner swordsmanship and then she turns to look at Rion, the gunblade resting on her shoulder easily. (That at least came naturally it seems.) Then, with an easy smile she walks over to him.]

Rion right? I think we've got some classes together.

[He's got his board out, thankfully - she's not in his sign language classes, and even with the people who are, that method of communication tends to break down anytime Rion wants to sign something complex.]

Yeah. I know you, though. You're Rinoa. You're a legend :)

[She just looks SO COOL with that gunblade like... she's like Squall! Sorta! Which is cool because they are Supposed To Be Together. Rion is blissfully unaware of any troubles between them and has very firm ideas on how romance works, many of which are hilariously incorrect.]

[The board isn't anything new, she remembers seeing it in class so it's not something she'll even think twice about. What's on the board is another matter.]

A legend? Me? [She likes the sound of that.] I thought that was just Squall and Quistis?

[The way her borrowed gunblade's resting on her shoulder was the same way Squall often held him sometimes so it actually makes sense to compare the two. Sadly he'll find out very quickly that all's not well in Supposed-to-Be-ville.]

[It is super cool, though. Of course, now he's quickly going into 'wait am I bothering her?' mode and starting to look a little awkward and uncomfortable.]

I'm not interrupting you, am I?

I bet Selphie'd think that's really cool. I'll have to ask her if she knows this yet or not.

[Looking at just how he's currently fussing, Rinoa just shakes her head.]

It's a great excuse to take a break, so don't worry about it. You're a real lifesaver even. Taking out monsters with an unfamiliar weapon is hard work.

[Awww. Look, he's flailing and flushing a little bit. Compliments from heroes are things that poor little Rion loves. * A*]

I can heal you or do things like that if you want somebody to watch you!

[After all, he is quite the healer. Rion may be terrible with a weapon and ineffective with offensive magic, but he heals like a boss.]

[And Rinoa's quickly going to learn just how awesome it is to have someone think you're a hero, so they're even.]

I guess it couldn't hurt to have someone around to heal me. If anything there's always casting esuna if they manage to knock me out, right? [She smiles] I'm tougher than I look though, so don't use up too much of your cure spells, okay?
