[Roxas is just sitting on a bench in the courtyard, flipping through a course catalog. He's frowning thoughtfully, tapping the page with a pencil as he reads descriptions and tries to make sense of the way things work

[SHOTAATTACKGO-Larsa passes by the boy on the bench just as he mumbles to himself and he pauses to turn towards him.]

A keyblade..?

Forgive my eavesdropping. I was simply passing by.

[Roxas jolts, if only because he was concentrating ever so hard, and that pencil goes flying luckily Riku isn't around to get hit by it]

Oh! Uh... [He resists looking for the errant pencil and looks at Larsa instead] A keyblade's the weapon I use.

[Did someone say shota attack? Lucky for Riku, but maybe not as lucky for other Cadets who happen to be headed their way upon spotting their friend. Hope jerks back, the eraser-end of the pencil jabbing him square in the forehead, and nearly drops all his books on Roxas' toes (as it is, only that awfully heavy Guide To Balamb Customs ends up falling).]

[This was a pleasant little mess wasn't it? Larsa turned to look at Hope, eyes widening. Then he began to laugh, bringing a hand up to muffle it.]

I believe that is what you call 'payback'. I received the butt of a cup to my brow and now you have received the butt of a pencil to yours.

[Larsa turns back to Roxas and smiles slightly.] My name is Larsa. And I believe you've just assaulted my friend, Hope, with your pencil. Anyways- I've not heard of the term 'keyblade' in regards to the name of a weapon.

[Hello, Roxas. Rise is right behind you, reading the catalog over your shoulder.]

[Oh hi there shoulder-Rise, pardon Roxas starting and glancing at her]

Oh! I'm Rise. I'm a Gemini, my birthday is on the first of June, my blood type is AB and I only tell my weight to close friends.

But I'm sure we're going to get there eventually, right?

[Roxas blinks, trying to digest this information]

Get...where?

[ The sight of someone studying in the courtyard catches Haku's attention, and he approaches Roxas curiously. Haku's often in the quad just to unwind, not yet having found a way to properly... assimilate with the people here. They are not like him, and he is not like them. Even in a classroom full of other students, he is alone. So he wanders and he studies, and he makes idle conversation to pass the time.

When he hears Roxas ask himself a question, he offers an answer. ]

Hm? I think that would depend on whether or not it can effectively cut.

Can it?

[ Haku's used to all sorts of weird, specialized weapons, so hearing such a strange weapon's name doesn't really stand out him. ]

[Roxas glances up, surprised to see a girl there. It's pretty practical logic, that approach to his current question, and he thinks about it for a few moments]

I think usually...it's more hitting things than cutting them.

[Generally, anyhow. This is where he's gotten more than a little confused since it could depend on the keychain used]

Well, in that case I think it's safe to say that it's a blunt weapon. Bladed weapons specialize in cutting.

[ Haku smiles at that, tentatively offering his hand. He's not quite used to this hand-shaking thing yet, but it seems to be popular around here. ]

I don't think I've seen you around before. My name is Haku.

Guess that makes sense...

[So he doodles some little thing next to the blunt weapons listing. And then watches Haku's hand for a moment, a bit puzzled by its presence at first, before realizing the what the intended gesture was.

So he takes Haku's hand in his and shakes it once before letting go. He never did figure out how brief or long that sort of thing was meant to be]

I'm Roxas. Nice to meet you, Haku.

Depends if what you're talking about has an actual blade or not.

[That's right. Squall's allowed his walking breaks too, so he's out walking about the courtyard and overhears the cadet.]

[Roxas pauses in his reading, glancing up and when he sees who it is his stuff's unfortunately lost to the floor as he gets up and moseys on up to the guy]

Leon, I didn't know you were here too!

[Raises a brow at the kid.] (...Who the hell is Leon?)

Leonhart, maybe. And you are..?

[His brow furrows at this, trying to figure out what's the matter with Leon]

My name's Roxas. I don't think we've met before, just Sora.

[Have an Axel flopping down into the seat next to you, little buddy.]

Well I don't think they have piercing...

[Axel has him checking though]

[Nope, no pericing. But hey, apparently there're prerequisites, wonder what those are]
