[Evening free hours find the SeeD cadet hard at work in the training room with her weapons, but unlike last semester there's something new; as her gunblades snap through the air, every once in a while there's a sharp report as of gunfire, and one of the blades jerks off at greater speed, almost randomly. It's clearly hard work; there's sweat

[It feels almost wrong to interrupt something so awesome, but Cissie can't help applauding at the effort. Even if she's never in here these days, it's pretty darn awesome that Maria's improving.]

[She's too worn-out to jump in surprise or even spin fast, so she still has a little measure of her dignity when she turns and smiles.] Oh hey!

[Cissie grins, waving at Maria before walking over.] Hey! Looks like you're getting a heck of a lot better.

I still have a long way to go, but I finally have permission to use the triggers. So it's SORT of like starting over again, but I know it's gonna be even better.

[she nods] Yeah, definitely! I haven't been in here a while myself, so I guess I should start... if only so I can keep up with you.

[gunblade_grrl]

It's not a competition... besides, how would we even compete considering we use completely different weapons?

Oh, did you ever pick up the Blaster Edge?

I didn't mean it like that. I mean like... I don't know, decent partners for a party? You never know.

[She shakes her head.] Nope. I'm sticking to my bows and arrows, even if it's old-fashioned.

Oh good, I'm going to need the help this quarter. I'm taking Limit Break Theory, so I'm gonna need some partners to help me when I'm roughed up enough to use them!

[alwaysanarcher]

Oh, I'm taking that too! Maybe we'll even be in the same class!

[clearly excited at the prospect of having a study partner]

Even if not, I'll be glad to help you. I'm really curious what kind of Limit Break you'll develop.

Limit Breaks in general seem really interesting. We didn't exactly have anything like it in my world.

Really? No one's full strength ever comes out when times are darkest and the situation is dire?

[She has to ponder it for a moment.] I mean... it happens, but we don't call it a Limit Break. It's just an adrenaline rush.

That's not the same, though. I mean, adrenaline is great and all, but it's not your hidden inner power or anything!

Fair enough! [giggles] Aw, now I'm totally excited to watch these in action.

I've only ever actually seen one in person. I've read a lot but I don't know anyone I could ask to show them off...
