[Spend time around Fisherman's Horizon today, and you may run into an unfortunate scene: an armored elf with a huge sword slung over his back, upsetting the locals. He is, after all, rather hostile-looking for such a peaceful and pacifist town, and he isn't even in SeeD uniform. It's more or less the same story at various points during the day:

[Neville approaches after overhearing an exchange. He's a little interested in swords now, having had the opportunity to wield the Sword of Gryffindor himself.
Of course, he doubts it counts a really wielding if all you do is just wave it around with the pointy end away from you.]

They really don't like swords around here, do they?

[Having given up on getting into the town for the time being--and growing thoroughly disgusted with himself for trying--Fenris is on his way back to Garden for the moment when Neville approaches.]

Swords, maces, daggers, or what you call "guns." They shun them all. For all the good it may do them.

[He mentally adds 'wands' onto that list, frowning. You can't defend yourself without a weapon.]

What's the point in teaching how to use them at this military academy if they don't like us having them?

[A thin smirk answers that.]

This land is not accustomed to making sense. Perhaps I should have expected no more.

Things make sense where you're from? [He's curious about other worlds, now he knows they exist.]

They do. It is not a kind or merciful sort of sense, but it is sense all the same. People learn from the mistakes of the past and try to contain them in the present.

[Nodding] I think people are starting to do that back home. Now our war's ended we can try to make things normal again. And better.
