[Night has fallen on Balamb Garden; the halls of Garden are mostly deserted besides the stray student walking about, and even the usual faculty members are missing from their posts around the school. There's a certain festive energy through the air, the source coming from the happily decorated Ballroom located on the second floor

[Padmé's there early to help with any set up, but as soon as the chime sounds and the Headmaster's speaking over the intercom she takes a deep breath and looks around the ballroom. She notes how lovely it looks and that the caterers waiting expectantly.

Tonight should be interesting, what with the Homecoming announcements!

Deciding to head out onto the balcony minutes after cadets and staff alike begin to arrive, Padmé gathers her flowing skirts and slowly begins to head in its direction across the dance floor.]

[Spotting her from across the dance floor, Cid walks over to join her on the balcony. He pauses briefly at the door to greet her before stepping further out.]

Good evening. [He smiles at her as he moves to stand beside her.] Enjoying yourself thus far?

Raines.

[She's turned to look back at him and returns his smile as he stands next to her. Padmé looks up at him and then out to the darkness of the area, the lights of Balamb Town twinkling in the distance. She reaches up to twist the end of her loose plait hanging over her shoulder around her fingers, the gesture done unconsciously and in thought.]

For now, yes. It's lovely out here, the stars... the hush...

It is indeed a very fine evening...

[He follows her gaze before his eyes lift skywards, at the stars twinkling above.]

As one who has traveled the stars, do you still find them beautiful?

[This was pretty much as formal as Nepeta was ever going to get in her life, but hey. The girl was scrubbed clean, her hair had been prettily combed and styled atop her head, and she was actually wearing a dress. It was quite an accomplishment for her.

Unfortunately as much as she had changed on the outside, she was still the same as ever and really her primary reason for being here was just to support Equius and Grell, so it was no surprise that she was playing wallflower.

All things considered, however, this was much better than the carnival. Much more quiet, no clown motifs, and it was sort of nice to just sit back and watch everyone enjoying themselves. Already she was entertaining possible ships. Maybe when she got back to her cave in the training center she would finally be able to restart her wall.]

['sup, wall-buddy? Espio's just hanging by the wall near Nepeta. He doesn't even have 'support someone' as an excuse to be here, he just wants to see if a fight's gonna break out and liven his month up.

What is she doing by the wall? She's all dressed up and everything.]

You know, at least you look ready to go and join in, here. Go grab someone and drag them onto the dance floor or something.

[Heya! Nepeta looks surprised that he addressed her, but she smiles shaking her head]

I'm not really much of a dancer. To be purrfectly honest I'm not really much fur parties in general but [and she gave a small shrug of her shoulders] Why don't you?

Oh come on You got all dressed up and aren't even getting involved in the party? Seems like a waste to me!

As for me, I don't dance. Even if I am taking compulsory dance classes, I don't. I'm just here for food, and to see if anything interesting happens.

[To say Goose's outfit is tacky is an understatement. He kept dressed in an American flag vest, white shirt, and deep blue jeans, keeping it simple, yet 'stylish'. (According to him, at the very least.) He didn't particularly care that it was extremely colorful and... erm, out there. That's how he likes to be- standing out in the crowd and looking like someone ~special~.

He immediately rushes over after the message on the intercom and slicks his hair as he walks in. Got to look good and sweet for the hot hunks, after all.]

[Gamzee walked into the dance looking surprisingly well-kept... for himself, at least. He still looked a bit messy and sloppy, but his hair was just a little less frizzy than usual and his makeup freshly applied. However, the same couldn't be said for his outfit that he decided to wear (that first one on the left).

That was... special. Just kind of special. Is he even allowed to bring a pie into the dance, by the way? Because he totally is and making a mess of himself already. Yay.]

She kind of thought that makeup was just something he was wearing at the carnival was just... Something he'd had done to have fun... She'd never expected to see him... Show up with it to the Homecoming dance...

Hi! [ She taps him on the shoulder, leans around him, and waves! ] Nice suit! You look great!

[ ... *A* It's so sparkly, she was kind of drawn to it. ]

[OH hey it's... uh... shit, what was her name? It was the redhead chick who tried his Faygo, and shit, is she ever cool. He likes this chick, and she's dressed all nice-like. Yeeeah.

He waves lazily, a mild grin spread across his makeup-caked features.] Looking motherfucking fresh as shit yourself, sister! I all didn't even know this shit would be happening, so I whipped up something all fuckin' quick.

[For something quick, it's certainly, ah... flashy.]

[ She giggles. ] Thanks!

[ And she thinks exactly that. ] That's something quick? [ She blinks, and looks him over again, entranced by... Twinkling... ] I can't even imagine what it would look like if you'd had a lot of time to get ready!
