[As much as Tom hated to admit it, exercising in the Boxing room just wasn't cutting it out for him. Some of his colleagues suggested that he should get a workout in the training center, but as Tom saw it? That was less a workout and more a "excuse in killing monsters." The pacifist in him wouldn't agree to unnecessary fighting

[Did someone say push the kitty in? Artemis is all for pushing the kitty in. Especially since Tom had been kind of a jerk when they first met.

Enjoy the water Bronson, because Artemis is totally going to "help" him into the pool right now. Have a nice swim~.]

[Out of shock, he attempts to grab onto Artemis for support as he tumbles into the water. Thankfully, he isn't transforming... not fully, anyways.

But instead of that human hand? He's totally got kitty paws latching on as he tumbles into that water. He'll apologize later. Hopefully.]

[She tries not to go with him, but it's a hopeless struggle and she finds herself falling into the pool with him.]

[She would be smirky about having shoved him in, but seeing as she's in the water herself it's hard to feel victorious right now.]

[On the bright side she's in her swimsuit anyway so it's not like it's a big deal.]

[After a moment of being dunked underwater, he sputters some out as he comes up for a breath of fresh air. He's a decent swimmer, so he manages to hold himself up just fine.

That's when he notices the kitty claws. Crap... He opens his paw and closes it, mainly to get his hands back to normal, but it's a slower process than he would've liked.]

What was that for?

[Coughing a little, she has to spit out a mouthful of water before she can answer him. Ew.]

Looked like you needed a hand.

[And after his stunt the other day she kind of felt he'd deserved a good dunking.]

I would've gone in eventually! [Still, he can't be too mad as he ducks his head underwater again and comes up again. With a laugh, he grins at her.]

You planning on getting a few laps done too?

Yeah? When. [Artemis rolls her eyes.] By the time you'd worked up enough nerve to go into the pool by yourself I'd be old and you'd be ancient.

I'm taking swimming this quarter, figured I'd study. [Not that she needed it, but it's nice to stay active.]

With Jecht? [He raises an eyebrow, but doesn't mention anything further on the subject. Nevermind that she's from a different world, he's still not going to give her a heads-up.] I guess that makes sense.

I just didn't want to fight again.

Pretty sure he teaches the other class. Why? [She notices that eyebrow raise, but isn't really sure what to make of it.]

So you came to the pool? That makes sense.

He's... special. [How should he put this...] Last Quarter, he insisted that his Cadets needed to be able to stay underwater 20 minutes at a time.

[He nods.] Better here then killing more monsters.

[crockshot]

Twenty minutes? You've got to be kidding me. Who does he think these cadets are? Aqualad?

Can't say that I blame you. I know they're just monster's but it doesn't feel right.

[tinkercat]

[He snorts.] Don't tell him about the kid or he just might. Nah, he's from a world called Spira... and that's apparently normal over there. It's how people're allowed to play underwater sports.

[It's rare to see someone who agrees, so he simply nods.] Pretty much.

Guy sounds like a real nutcase. [She looks thoughtful at the news about the other Instructor's home world.] A world where it's normal to hold your breath for twenty minutes? Sounds nuts, but whatever. Guess most people would find a world where some guys wear tights pretty weird too.

Training dummies are one thing, but living, breathing creatures are another.

[This is one of the reasons why Artemis will never use the training center for it's intended purposes. Setting up a makeshift archery range maybe, fighting monsters? Not so much.]

It's not a "guess," it's a "oh hell yes they find it weird." [Tom still remembers his first month of school and the people he met there... it was a doozy.] But if you ever get slack, just point out that this world has gunblades. That usually shuts 'em up.

[There's not much else he can say on the second subject, so he smiles in agreement. Man, if only his world's Artemis had acted like this as a kid... or maybe she did and he never realized it.]

Guess it's one of those things you have to grow up with to find normal. [She shakes her head.] Have no reason to get slack. It's not like I make a habit of talking about the hero business.

[She didn't even tell the school, figure it wasn't their concern.]

[If only she knew the full extent of what her other self was like. She'd probably work even harder than she already is, because major do not want. That costume alone is reason enough to stay on the straight and narrow. Ugh.]
