Actually, you really should have thought out your actions before bidding.

You will either need to earn the gil you overbid on, have it taken from your stipend from your sponsorship, or the person(s) you have bid on will be freed from their obligation for a date with you. Someone else can help you with the remaining gil you don't have, too.

Oh, it's plenty real.

They understand that this isn't our world, and we can't exactly earn a living on our own here. Most of the population dislike us because they think we're some sort of...I don't even know. A Sorceress army? It's all rather ridiculous.

We're given a small stipend so we don't have to worry about buying something we need or want. Everyone is given one.

I'm not surprised. With all that's happening between the Gardens, they'll need all the forces they can get. This tactic is just a way to tip things in their favor, and very smart of them to do, since every other place is wary of us. Dangerously so.
