He walks faster, following the strange sound. It wasn't unpleasant but it was very much new to his ears and it reminded him of a soldier from back home. He stops and approaches the lady with the sound-making artifact.]

[ Motioning to the guitar's six wire strings, pulled taut. ]
You just strum them, like this--[ she demonstrates ]--and the movement of the strings makes the sound.
