[Percy stands up straight as he walks by, opting for a pompous exterior and attitude that isn't really missed. He stares curiously at Vol'jin, surprised by his features and desperate to question them. Instead he refrains and provides his best instructor response.]

It is a school after all, would you expect anything different? Students must adhere to rules or else the establishment would crumble quite easily!

[The stare isn't so unusual; he's gotten more than a few looks since he arrived, but the attitude - that's different. A little funny, but different.]

Dere ain't so many rules where I come from... but dere be no schools.

[He fiddles with the papers in his hands a bit, then sets them down. He's pretty sure Percy's a human, so he's got some questions, too...] Ya humans all like dese classes so much?

No schools?! How do you even learn anything! Classes have always been an essential part of our survival.

[Of course he enjoys them, but that's not saying much.]

Don't tell me you're a student, then.

We learn or we be dead. [Yes, this is a smile, but it's rather... fangy. Pointy teeth to go with those tusks.] My papa taught me some tings, I be learnin' some others alone.

[And he taps on the coursebook he just put down next to himself to answer that one... and sorry, Percy, but he hasn't read enough of his papers yet to be able to tell the difference between instructor and student at first sight, and he sure doesn't know the fine points of human ages.] Ya study here too?

Seems like a pretty... [A pause. Those teeth were equally terrifying.] strict way to live. Education has always been an important essence to survival, but not to the point where our death is in the way. There are well trained men for that, keeping us safe while we learn. Doing so on your own would result in an improper education.

[He's all dignified and pompous. Percy's seen the damage done when someone tries to go out on their own - it's hardly effective.] And yes, I am an instructor. [The gaping stares are replaced by a smile.] Political science and International Relations, actually. Will you be taking those?

How ya learn to fight if ya always safe... and what happens if ya enemy catch ya witout dose trained men? [This is soo not a threat, he's just got a little culture shock.

Annd more paper shuffling, because there are so many classes it's hard to keep track of them, especially when they go by such odd titles.]

Maybe I be learnin about ya politics...

There's nothing wrong with learning how to defend yourself, but I would draw the line at any practical measurements. There's no danger here. At all. [He says that last bit with a sense of reassurance, as if determined to ensure that things are in fact, perfectly alright.]

I can assure you the classes is quite interesting actually! [No. No they're not.] Perhaps we could discuss our differences? I'm sure wherever you're from, there's bound to be several differences in how we handle politics.

[He wouldn't believe that it was safe in a million years, but he's willing to let it go as human weirdness. (For now... there'll be time to study Percy later. In class.)]

I take ya word on dat til da class starts, mon. [Another toothy smile.] Mos' trolls be settlin' political differences wit war, raidin', headhuntin'... dat kinda ting.

[War? Trolls?]

You're definitely the first intelligent one I've met then. [Should have kept your mouth shut, Percy.] Most trolls around here are incapable of such talk - they're hardly capable of thinking!

I'm sure you'll be a welcome addition to the class then.

[He stands up pretty quick, shedding a few last miscellaneous papers.... and he's a lot taller than he looked sitting down and hunched up - over seven feet, not counting the spiky hair. Suddenly he's looking a lot more intense than amused.]

Ya seen other trolls here? Tell me.

[Well. That is not terrifying in the slightest. Percy takes a step back in uncertainty, clearly this wasn't the right move to make. His attempt to choose the right words is evident, but his fear is getting in the way - clearly afraid of making the wrong move.]

Back home, actually -- I've only read about them, never actually met them, you see -- [He stumbles through, pausing.]

They were about your height, you see, but far less intelligent. Most of them were told to carry clubs and rudimentary weapons... but I see you are clearly not like them. [Another pause.] A rather appreciative improvement, actually.

[Vol'jin holds still as Percy backs off, not wanting to spook him into running. He doesn't stop watching him, though, and he definitely doesn't sit back down.]

Where ya come from, human?

England. [He feels like it's wise to leave it at that, but something tells him maybe he should be more clearer. Percy leaves it alone for now.]

I would assume you're not from around there, are you?

I don't know what da humans be callin' deir places. What be da name of your world?

[If only he had studied international relations back home, he wouldn't have to ask!]

It's called Earth. I live in an area called London, quite a nice place. If you can get past the Muggles, that is.

[Surely the charm they'd given him would translate it if that were a human word for his own planet. He's not sure whether that's really good or bad - but either way, he does relax a bit, going back to his normal slouching posture.]

[Softly, to himself:]Three kinda trolls... and none be da same like all da humans.

Dese Muggles... dey some other people dat live on ya Earth?
