[Quistis spots that familiar grey trench coat.. and for the first time in quite a while, she actually feels relief upon catching sight of it. Which is amazing in itself, considering all the things that he had done to them in the past.

But that doesn't matter at the moment. Because seeing Seifer back means that Squall could be back, as well.

Nonetheless, she approaches him, a stack of papers in her arms.]

[Seifer tenses at the sound of that voice, stopping in his tracks. He turns to look at the blond, inwardly cringing. Hard not to considering that she'd had a hand in handing him his ass on a silver platter.

The muscle in his cheek flexes as he grits his teeth.]

[She's just wasting his time.]

[Her brows furrow-- she's definitely familiar with this hostile side of Seifer, though there seems to be something else beneath it all. It's a bit unsettling, but Quistis refuses to back down.]

[About to open his mouth to snap at her Seifer shuts it again, falling quiet. Rinoa? She's been looking for him?

Fine. Then go page Commander Puberty 'cause I got a bone to pick with him.

He isn't here at the moment. However, as your Lieutenant-in-Command, I have the authority to allow you into the third floor. But first, I want an answer to my question.

[Surprise registers on his face first but he quickly wipes it away by narrowing his eyes.]

[Quistis tries her best to not let his words get to her, but the light flush of her cheeks betrays her otherwise stoic appearance.]

For your information, both Squall and Cid thought that I was qualified for the job. Now, are you going to answer my question or not?

First things first: How are you even remotely close to bein' 'qualified' for that position if you couldn't even hold your first? I'm really thinking he was desperate after all.
