[it has taken kanda several weeks before he was allowed to leave the infirmary. here he was, roaming the corridors of this place called 'garden'; where he would have to attend to, god forbid, classes and study? he wasn't too entirely sure on what was going on-or what had happened which caused him to land himself here to begin with. time compression

[Was walking behind him when he sees the other falling. And with all those bandages there already, it must have not been so pleasant.]

Are you alright?! [Quickly goes over and offers a hand.]

[kanda stares at the hand. but dismisses it, and instead pulls himself up with some effort.]

Just fine.

[Another prickly one.]

If you're fine, then why did you fall? [Notes the various bandages and such.] Did they let you out of the infirmary like this?

[tembleques]

[questions he's not too willing to answer.]

What does it matter? I can walk.

[Gakupo can be persistent.]

Oh? [Wry smile] Hmm...maybe I was mistaken.

[He'll just stand back and let him walk, then.]

Just in case you don't want to take the stairs, I'm sure there's an elevator here somewhere.

[what's the point of elevators... he wants to walk, to prove himself that he can still do these normal functions. doesn't except to be understood, but doesn't intend to try and explain either.

so, like he's repeating this to a child,] I'll walk.

Suit yourself. [Begins to walk away, calling over his shoulder. Obviously the other is too proud to really take help. He truly doesn't think the other will get far without further injury, but he could be wrong. If he could get down that flight of stairs on his own, then Gakupo will probably stop stalling.

Hangs up a few flyers for the GFC, humming a soft tune.]

[kanda makes it halfway down the steps, before he stops. why was walking up and down stairs more straining than actual walking, he didn't want to know. but it just proved to him how very unprepared he was to tackle on these day-to-day things, regardless of having spent more time at the infirmary than he's ever spent in his life.

notices that the man with the long, purple hair is still around. so, he deems it proper to ask.]

... this time compression crap, it's true?

[Pauses in his work, noting that the other is just using the stairs as exercise. Odd. Turns to the injured male with a solemn nod.]

I've been here over a year now. A lot of others have been here just as long or longer. [Goes back to hanging up another flyer, taking down some old ones.] The time compression has been sending the majority of us home in the past few weeks to various points in time in our home world. If you're lucky, you may get sent back home for good.

[tembleques]

[over a year? so it had started a long time ago, but somehow caught him at this point in time. eyes the action of the other and tries to figure out what the flyers are for, before giving up and sighing, looking to the side, to the vast hallways.]

I have no reason to go back.

[and no reason to stay, but since i'm already here ... might as well make do with what i can.]

[Stops again and peeks to him at the comment. Well, he's not going to get any work done like this.]

You probably are not the only to feel like that. I can't say that I do, but Garden has become a home for some.

It's a military school. [An odd one to him.]

I'd use that term loosely, if I were you.

It's more of a mercenary school, but the line of difference wouldn't be too big. Some people enjoy it, if only for the para-magic we learn in class.

[shuffles uncomfortably on his feet. and it's easy to tell by the look in his face that all this information absolutely baffles him; like all he's known and done is worth nothing here.]

What is para-magic even supposed to be.
