[The following morning has Espio up early. The chameleon is seated at the table, leaning forward and looking pretty thoughtful as he prods a turnip. He's waiting for Tobias to get up.]

[Tobias is up not too long after, yawning and rubbing his eye. Noticing Espio at the table, he smiles a bit, trying to stifle a second yawn.]

[Oh there he is! About time he got up! ...yeah okay so Espio was being a little impatient, but. They need to talk.

With a particularly serious expression on his face, he just watches Tobias for a moment. He actually probably looks irritated by something, though he's pretty much just thinking...

That, and he has a bit of a headache, for which he firmly blames Marco.]

...Espio?

[Tobias gives him a confused look.]

We gotta talk - 's'why I'm up early, killer headache or not. Sit down.

[He does so, though looks a little uncomfortable now.]

[Notices the uncomfortable look, and frowns.]

[Ah man, Espio can't focus with Toby looking all awkward like that... not that he was particularly focused anyway.]

Nothing bad, okay? So you can relax.

[Relaxing, not so much, but Tobias does lose the awkwardness.]

[Seems a little annoyed by the kid's inability to relax, but after a moment of frowning, shrugs.]

You told me you wanted to be more than just friends. Right?

Right. And you said you weren't interested.

[turnip_rage]

Yup.

[There's a pause, because Espio cannot believe what he's trying to say here, but it's not a very long one.]

Can I change my mind?

[That... was certainly not what Tobias expected. He simply blinks at Espio in surprise for a minute or two, then smiles brightly.]
