[One may or may not notice a dark figure standing under a tree, watching other mill about to their classes. The population of cadets have nearly doubled, and the percentage of SeeD and instructors has also grown at a rate he hasn't seen in a while. Shadow's reappearance will certainly cause a stir

[Finished with classes for the day! Tom was simply passing by Shadow until he noticed something in the tree's shadow. Was it---it is him.] Hey! It's been a while.

[neutralchaotic]

[Who would be so enthusiastic about seeing him? His attention goes to the voice and everything clicks.]

Bronson. [Nods softly to the other, closing the newsletter.] Too long, it seems.

[tinkercat]

[he stuffs his hands in his pockets, still grinning slightly] Unfortunately. Did your mission go well?

[neutralchaotic]

Of course. [Smirks] It went smoothly enough. Weren't you sent on one?

[tinkercat]

A while back, yeah---but then Garden's Boxing teacher retired, so they asked me to fill in temporarily. [sheepish shrug] I've been here ever since.

[neutralchaotic]

Boxing... [That does sound right up his alley.] How's that going for you? [Shadow hadn't thought of what to do in between missions. Teaching wasn't exactly his thing, or so he thinks.]

[tinkercat]

As usual, I signed myself up for too much. [He can't help laughing] Most teachers do Monday-Wednesday-Friday or Tuesday-Thursday... but me? I signed up for all five.

Next Quarter, I'm definitely scaling back down.

[neutralchaotic]

Impressive. [Smirks, because that does sound like something Bronson would do.] Can't handle the grading?

[tinkercat]

More like the kids. God, were we ever like that? [He's half-joking, half-serious.]

[neutralchaotic]

...I wouldn't know. [He's not joking. He never 'grew up', so to speak.] But it doesn't help that the punishments are so lax. [Punishment tours? Really?]

[tinkercat]

Riiight. [instinctively, his hand reaches for his carton and he pulls out a cigarette] Pops doled out worse stuff for sure, but I guess that's Headmaster's way of "playing nice" with the Cadets.

[neutralchaotic]

This is a military school, not nursery school.

[tinkercat]

You tell that to Headmaster. He thinks going easy on 'em's okay. [cautiously lights it and places the cigarette in his mouth] Though I can't blame him--some of the new arrivals have really strange powers.

[neutralchaotic]

[Uses his speed to snatch the cigarette away before it touches the other's lips, squashing it. He never liked those things, and it won't change now.] I think discipline should start higher up first.

[tinkercat]

[FOILED. Tom makes a face but stuffs his hands in his pockets.] We'll petition the Headmaster. [chuckles] Does that work?

[neutralchaotic]

[Nods once.] Maybe I can write up a draft.
