[For anyone perceptive enough to notice--or just anyone who happened to be out and about really, the sight a new arrival decked out in some high-tech toaster on his face visor-like mask is probably something that would have caught their attention

[While Maria wasn't quite that person, she had noticed the man. While she may be no expert on disabilities, the mask does bring to mind a few things on the ARK, which is why she's approaching him with a smile.]

Is it all right if I join you?

[prosecutor]

[Diego watched the girl from behind that mask as she approached. She was completely unfamiliar to him, but as the first to actually do something beyond stare in his direction, he had to give her some credit]

[She settles herself carefully and lady-like beside him, looking around at the Quad before turning back to him, still smiling brightly.]

My name is Maria. I'm afraid I'm a bit new here, so I don't recognize you.

[prosecutor]

Looks like that makes two of us. I was just transferred here from Galbadia Garden, myself.

[Hold plz, drinking more coffee now glug glug glug]

The name's Diego Armando. I'll be co-teaching some of the courses on international law.

It's not quite as laid back as Balamb, that's for sure. Aside from that, things are pretty similar.

[She looks around again, almost like a little girl in a brand new candy store.]

This is really different from what I'm used to.

Most people feel the same way when they first show up here.

[Finishing off that coffee now, and then tossing the paper cup into a nearby trash receptacle. Oh look, he brought a spare--]

Give it some time. I'm sure you'll fit right in.

[How many of those things do you have?]

It's already more than I imagined it would be from space. If the rest of the world is even half as beautiful as Garden, I can't wait to see it all.

Space?

Yes. I lived most of my life on a space station called the ARK. I've never actually seen the world itself.

[prosecutor]

A space station? Imagine that.

In that case, Garden's probably your best bet. You'll get to travel all over if you stick around long enough.

So I've heard! The classes look interesting as well, though I can't quite decide what to pick.

[prosecutor]

That's easy. What sorts of interests do you have?

I'm afraid I'm not much of a fighter, but I want to be able to help. I've been looking at the Battlefield Medicine specialization, along with the Para-Magic one.

[Magic. Who would've guessed it was real?]

I'd love to learn about most everything, though. I never had much chance on the ARK.

[prosecutor]

Sounds like you have a good idea of what you want to do already.

Just don't take on too much too fast. Even the best blend can be ruined by too many ingredients.
