valentine's day dance!

[Night has fallen on Balamb Garden; the halls of Garden are mostly deserted besides the stray student walking about, and even the usual faculty members are missing from their posts around the school. There's a certain festive energy through the air, the source coming from the Ballroom cheerily decorated located on the second floor

[For the first time since he'd gotten the thing, Snow has put on his SeeD uniform. This raises all sorts of questions, the first being how the heck did they make a uniform that big. From his vantage point head-and-shoulders above the crowd, the Instructor scans the attendees, with eyes for only one girl in the crowd.]

[Did that particular girl have pink hair? Because if so she's already there, just hiding where he can't see her. Behind him of course, which was proving to be rather fun since he seems pretty intent on looking for her.

So naturally it's not long before she takes pity on him and wraps her arms around his waist from behind.]

Looking for someone, Snow?

[She couldn't resist the chance to tease him after all. In a soft pink dress with matching heels, Serah's still as tiny compared to him as ever, but she's confident she looks er best tonight. Except for her necklace and the nora cats dangling cheerfully from her ears there's no real jewelry to be seen. Her hair is down for once, which might come as a surprise for many since it's not her trademark ponytail.]

[As soon as her hands go around him, he lifts one of his own hands to press against hers with a smile she can't see yet.]

Maybe a little.

[He turns into arms to look down at her, and she can be rewarded by the way his breath catches to see her. For a long moment he just stands there in quiet awe, a smile on his face.]

I never forgot I'm engaged to the loveliest girl ever born anywhere, but I never mind being reminded.

Really? Maybe I can help you find them then.

[If it makes him feel better, her breath catches when he turns too. Letting go of her hold on him, Serah smooths her hands over the fabric on Snow's chest.]

It suits you somehow. I like it. [She smiles cheeks turning a shade of pink at his compliment.] It's one thing to say I'm the loveliest girl when it was just Cocoon, but now that we know there are so many worlds that's an awful lot.

[She's teasing again, though she knows he's sincere. Not that she can blame him. She'll never,e ver find someone who looks better than Snow no matter how many worlds she could be forced to visit.]

I guess I know what you mean though, since now I can say that I'm engaged to the best man in existence too. Certainly the most handsome that's for sure.

[Which isn't hard. In Serah's eyes Snow is pretty much perfect.]

You really think the uniform looks good? I feel weird in it. I can't remember the last time I ever got dressed up like this.

I mean it. It looks really good on you. [She smiles, hands just resting against the fabric for now.] Well it is really fancy, so it'd be hard to match it don't you think?

I'm the one who can't match you. You could wear a sack and make it look better than the finest dress here.

[Serah smiles and shakes her head a little.] I'm not so sure about that. There are some really nice dresses here.

[He lifts one hand to cup her cheek with exquisite tenderness.]

They can't compete with you.

[faterelay]

[Loveblind as the saying goes, but really she's not about to complain. There are worse things in the world than someone thinking you're the prettiest girl in existence after all.]

No one can compete with you either. [Serah smiles and then tuns her head slightly to press a kiss to his palm. Valentine's day is, from now on, going to be one of her favorite days of the year.]

[Snow won't be satisfied until every day is her favorite day of the year, because every day will carry all the good memories of the previous years and all the new memories they make afresh.]

So. Want to make me look good on the dance floor just by being with you?

[So long as he's near she'll try to think of everyday as her favorite day of the year and that's a promise.]

If that's what it takes to get you to dance with me, then of course. [Serah smiles and takes his hand, heading for the dance floor.]

[That girl can lead Snow about like a puppy. He's got no ability in him to resist. Though once they reach their spot on the dance floor, he draws her into his arms, one hand linked with hers and the other on her waist. Guess who learned to dance, just a little, as part of becoming an Instructor?]

[Well then, looks like this puppy can impress his girl by showing her just how good he's gotten at dancing then. Smiling, she she looks up at him and waits for his lead.

In the background a teapot can be heard singing about tales as old as time.]

[Good enough to not take out a dozen other couples on the first move. For someone Snow's size, that's reasonably impressive. For someone Snow's size who has completely forgotten everything of the outside world save the girl he's holding, it might be nothing short of miraculous.]

[Then that's pretty good considering. Though she's naturally picked a quiet part on the edge of the dance floor for this reason. Serah really isn't fond of the idea of crashing into a bunch of people after all.

Though right now she's more concerned with the fact that this is actually really fun. She'll have to find excuses for them to dance more often. Maybe without the crowd around.]
