[Night has fallen on Balamb Garden; the halls of Garden are mostly deserted besides the stray student walking about, and even the usual faculty members are missing from their posts around the school. [Eiko is under a table, peering out from under the table cloth. Valentine's Day is a romantic day, right? Well, she's going to "observe." And possibly interfere when people inevitably (sigh) screw up...]

[Taking a moment to wander the room alone Edea can't help but spot the little curious face peeking out from beneath a table. She approaches and lowers herself down, tilting her head to better see who could be hiding.]

Stands up straight, and bangs her head on the table. Genius girl yelps in pain, and clutches her head.]

[So, she comes out from under the table, and turns to look up at the unfamiliar woman.]

Are you an instructor? You look too old to be a student. Pretty, but old. Or... did you sneak in?

[This girl is so tiny! Edea waits a moment before standing, brushing her skirts down. She notices the horn but doesn't question it; Cid's told her all about the off-worlders, how different they all are.]

Goodness-- are you alright? That certainly sounded like it had hurt.

[Pretty but old, well that's nothing really new. Such an attitude and those words, she's reminded of the children back at the Orphanage. Edea smiles unable to help herself.]

I fear I'm much too old for that.

Yup, I'm okay! [She rubs the tiny pinkprick tears from the corners of her eyes, and smiles widely.] You're not too old to dance, though, right? You're going to have fun too! Have you got a... Hushes voice to a whisper for no apparent reason] special someone here with you?

[How adorable! Edea gives her a little smile and crouches back down so they're the same height. She then leans forward and lowers her voice to a stage whisper.]

Can you keep a secret, little one?

[Eiko shuffles her foot behind her before nodding.]

Yup! You can tell me anything!

Do you see that man over there? [Edea shifts around to point out Cid who's occupied with some of the staff and conversation.]

[Eiko leans forward and peers in the general direction Edea points in.] Headmaster Cid?

[She smiles and nods.] That's him, yes.

[Looks again to the Headmaster, and back to Edea.]

I didn't know headmasters could fall in love and get married or anything like that. Isn't he a big nerd?

[Oh the innocence in those big eyes...]

I wouldn't necessarily call him a 'big nerd', no. [Laughing softly under her breath.]

Well, I learned something new then! Thanks, lady! So are you married, or still courting?

[Old people are usually married, right? But she'll ask, because courting is more interesting than marriage.]
