So last night, I dressed up Kindergoth and we made our way to the concert. We got there about 20 mins before the doors opened. Only a small handful of people were there at that time, so it went rather well. As time went on, the place started getting crowded and I was both pleased and dismayed to see that very few of the parents actually bothered to dress their child up. Pleased because my daughter looked so cute, dismayed because so many parents seem to have the attitude that just because it's a child singing, it doesn't hold as much importance. I don't know, I guess I just feel that things like this should be treated as very special occasions. I'm rather odd that way...
We only stayed long enough for her to sing, of course. (There will be many years ahead in which we will be staying longer as she gets older.) She did beautifully. She didn't cry, she was happy, she even kept tempo. I have to say, I was quite impressed. *proud mama moment*
I was unable to get good pics. They had the area close to the stage roped off and were not allowing parental units to get too close. But I took a pic of her before we left. Here she is, in-between smiles. She would always smile nicely right AFTER I had taken the picture.
Afterward, thanks to a donation from the inlaw units, we took her out to celebrate her 1st official performance. Being the upper-class citizens we are, we graced Carl's Jr with our presence.
I tried to get her to give me a smile, or at least a pose where she was peeking up from the table while we were waiting for our dinner... This is what I ended up with.
And when I asked Ecamer to get her to smile, this is what I got.
I love my family.
