Happy Autumn!!

Friday:
*** Went to Kindergoth's open-house with in-laws in tow. We got to see what a normal day is like for her. I can see why she is so tired when she gets out of school. They pack a lot of stuff into those two-hour days. After that my MIL invited not only Kindergoth to lunch, but me as well. I was shocked. We went to Golden Corral and I made myself a rather impressive salad. It was fantastic. After that, we hung out at their place for awhile because by them it seemed kind of silly to go home. I would have had to just turn around and leave again to pick up Ecamer. When I finally did leave to get Ecamer, I noticed my tire was *really* low. Not completely flat but getting damn close. His dad had left to run some errand so there was no way I could take the in-law's car and there is no way I can change a tire and be there on time to pick up Ecamer so I just risked it anyway. I made it safely and pointed it out to Ecamer when he came out. He said we needed to take it back to his parents because our spare may be flat. >.< So back to the in-laws we went. and while they were changing it, we found out that Ecamer was right. Naturally I wondered why we would bother having a spare tire if it had no air in it but whatever...

Then... THEN!!!

*** The uber mature part of my brain had a brilliant idea. One that would require further experimentation. One that only my best friend Vampy could appreciate because well, while Ecamer doesn't mind pondering these things, he's kind of a stick in the mud when it comes to actually trying it. Glow-in-the-dark bubbles! Right before I went to sleep, my mind concocted this idea of making a glowing bubble solution. So I txted Vampy, he was all for it (naturally) and we made a date to meet after he got off work at midnight to try this. (Welcome to Mythbusters: The Non-Explosive Edition.) So after he got off work, we met and hit Wally world and gathered supplies. Bubble solution, camping glow sticks, dish-soap to alter the viscosity and some caffeine and sugar to fuel us for the remainder of the evening. Then we drove up the mountain to get away from the city lights and began our experiment. And it worked! We have to tweak the recipe some to get a brighter bubble but it is possible. So there we were, on the mountain blowing phosphorescent bubbles at 2:30 in the morning. We saved the rest of the solution for when we have my birthday party. Because even if it's no longer glowing, it will be black-light responsive. Ecamer thinks I'm crazy. He's probably right.

*** Oh yes. Must not forget this. Apparently I (along with Dante and Vampy) have become rather famous (or perhaps infamous) in my local pagan community. While Vampy had come into work early one day, he met this guy from the 1st shift who was on his lunch break. He was reading a book on one of the various religions that use magick (I can't remember which) and he struck up a conversation with this person. The conversation eventually drifted to the local pagan community and the BRC and then Vampy introduced himself and the guy's eyes got real wide and he mentioned my name. I have no idea what this guy has heard and Vampy didn't ask. When I asked Vampy what the guy's name was, it wasn't familiar but apparently he has heard "all about us". I can only assume that what he has heard has centered around Amber and Lisa. -_- So now I'm just waiting for some "tell-all" book to appear. Leave it to the pagan community to not be able to just walk away... I didn't realize I was so important.

Saturday:
*** Spent most of the day at the in-laws doing laundry. Ecamer and I did go out to lunch though. We also wandered through a military surplus store and then he took me to the police supply store to look into getting a concealed permit. We also looked into getting me a gun. I don't want anything spectacular. Just a .22 or perhaps a .32. I would feel more comfortable with a semi-automatic but he wants me to get a revolver. Then he is also talking about me getting a used one because of price but I would feel more comfortable with a new one. I mean, I'm going to be using this thing to protect my life.. I don't want to risk getting a 'lemon' so to speak. (Paranoia talkin' here.) Granted, he does have a valid argument on why he would rather me carry a revolver. But when it comes to new vs used, I doubt I will budge on the issue.

*** After that, we went to Michaels and I grabbed one of the last packs of gargoyles for my haunted doll house. No I haven't been working on it. Frankly I haven't had time and Kindergoth has been way too curious (i.e. into things) lately for me to feel comfortable even attempting such a task. I also picked up some skeleton ribbon as well as come cute skull and bat jingley bells. Then last night, I vegged at my laptop watching The Last Mimzy and Simpsons the Movie.

Today I think I may just hole up in my room or perhaps see if Vampy wants to do anything. There is a Greek Festival this weekend. Maybe we can go to that. I'd ask Ecamer to go but he wont want to because he hates lamb...

kin, life, kindergoth
