First Spell
The magic book I got from the library is intense. I looked for a simple spell to do. I found a good luck spell. Didn't look too hard I thought. Since my only friend is basically Xander, I decided to give him good luck. I went to a magic shop for the first time and bought the required ingredients. I laughed at myself for even attempting this.
I set the colored candles around a framed picture of Xander. I chanted some Latin chant from the book and sprinkled some powder-like stuff I bought from the magic shop over it. Then things started to seem weird. I felt something go through my body. When I was done with the chant, I feel back on the ground. I felt power all around me. It was odd. I wasn't sure if I ever really believed in magic, I was just fooling around with it, but now I'm sure I do.
I returned the book back to Mr. Giles, the librarian. I continued to chat with him about it, telling him of my experience. He didn't seem too surprised. I could tell he has dabbled with magic before. All of a sudden, out of the blue, Mr. Giles asked me if I heard of a new student who was coming, named Buffy Summers. I thought the question was odd, but I told him that I didn't know. None of my teachers had mentioned anything.
Xander and I are going to the Bronze tonight. Many people around school have been talking up a band called Dingeos Ate My Baby. I asked Xander to go with me in hopes they would be playing. Maybe I can try to dance with him to try to change his view of me.
