'FREE'
by Agatha G.
The moon is up, the stars are bright,
We're running through the quiet night,
For once in life, there is no fear,
To make our way along the pier.
We shout it out, let it be known,
This is we, just how we've grown.
And everyone can finally see,
The way it feels to be so free.
Hold out our arms to show them all,
Fat or skinny, short or tall,
This is the way we've come to be,
And now for once, we've become free.
"Turn back! Turn back!" They call from behind.
Now I'm alone, ahead I find,
Some man watching, eager to see,
Me, exposed, but still so free.
So without a thought, I turn and run,
Our daring night will soon be done.
So I get dressed, he watches with glee,
But I don't care, because I'm free.
