I just saw a TV spot for the Top 20 Under 20 - a scholarship I applied for last year for "a young person who has demonstrated significant amounts of Innovation, Leadership and Achievements in their life, school, community, province or country" . I didn't get it, but I recognized 3 out of all of the recipients that I went to the International Science Fair with. They didn't have any additional volunteering or leadership or whatever, just the science project like I did when I applied. I didn't hand the application in late. I was elligible.
Only difference? One was from Quebec, and two from Ontario. Poor Albertan girl doesn't count even though she made a significant find in the field of cancer research.
