This past weekend consisted of me doing homework, playing Sims 2 Pets (Brian and I have had our 2nd child; a daughter named Isis. And I lied about Jimi being redheaded. He's got brown hair, so it's not as ridiculous for his name to be Jimi. Isis is redheaded like her mother. Awww.), and a whole lotta Starbucks! I had training on both Saturday and Sunday, although Saturday was mainly a whole group of noob baristas from all over town, going through the training manual and watching a lot of corporate brainwash. Ask me anything about Starbucks (except how to make drinks, I'm not there yet). Sunday was pretty much me and Laura figuring out how to work the til. Luckily, this was done on a computer program and not an actual til. That could have been ugly, considering it took us on average 3 minutes to find the appropriate buttons. The free "partner beverage" did make up for it, though. Maple lattes are back in season and I had 2! Yum. I've got more training Wednesday, and I hope I can actually go because the water system at my location broke down, so they don't have water. Which could suck. Hope that's only temporary.
I caught my bus today (WOW), although it was almost 10 minutes late (which seems longer in -20°C). This British lady was waiting with me and she said things like "it's bloody freezing!" Man, I wish I could talk like her. That might actually come true in a few years... Anyways, I get on the bus and as we stop at the mall, somebody familiar walks in. It was Kait, a girl from the Saturday brainwash day that is going to transfer to my brand new location (opening December 14th!) !! So we got to talking coffee, our stores, and finally moved onto more personal things like school and friends. She lets it slip that she knows a couple people who are going to be astronaughts, and I tell her that I know someone who's being an astrophysicist, which is close. She also says the same thing and we realize we're both talking about (no personality*) Andy! Turns out Kait is hella tight with Erin's friends, as they all went to the same high school and took the same guitar class together. It's a small world after all! And to make it smaller, she knows Laura, the girl I am training with now. Hoopla!
Now about this Anti-Tree day business: I tried printing my chapter 8 O-Chem notes early this morning and I'm sure I made it print 2 per page but it didn't. Strike one. Later on today I was photocopying my Chem postlab like I always do. I go to every single machine and try to copy the double sided page double sided, to save paper. EVERY SINGLE MACHINE WAS JAMMED. So apparently, trees were not meant to be saved today. Which upsets me quite a bit, but whatever.
Absolute last thing today, I got a letter from Ashley, my Queenie friend from Australia. We just recently decided to exchange addresses and snailmail it up! Getting her letter reminded me to send mine, so I did. But it was from a long time ago. I think I'll send another one at the end of the week that's more recent.
Erin and Ben and a whole bunch of family friends are coming over this Saturday! I have an 8am-1pm shift on that day, too. Woot, indeed. But yay, Erin! I haven't seen her in around 2 weeks, which is much too long.
XOXO and ROCK ROCK ON!
