Real life can be such fun.
Rain is once again forecast for the very wet state of Missouri. Starting tomorrow, Sunday, and running through Tuesday afternoon; rain, heavy at times with thunder storms. I'm starting to worry about those animals that keep lining up two by two.
I want spring, I want sunshine...
In nine short months I shall be giving birth...wait for it...giving birth to a new...it's coming...a new life style!!!!
It's called retirement. Scares me crazy. Voicing some of my fears of finding myself eating cat food, a good friend told me not to worry about it, who will be able to afford gas to go to the grocery store to buy anything, much less cat food. I thought she was going to offer to feed me.
Publisher's Clearing House...I can already hear the laughter in the background. Back in February, early February, I decided to go ahead and order some magazines with my entry in that great big give away know as the Publisher's Clearing House Sweepstakes! OK, I should have know better, but the prices were good, and the magazines were ones that I had wanted for awhile. So I caved and ordered...sending a check in with my entry.
It is now almost April. I have not won the Publisher's Clearing House Sweepstakes, although I did receive an envelope full of phony checks to pay toward some cheap merchandise with inflated prices that were offered as a consolation prize. What I haven't got is a single issue of any of the magazines that I ordered!!! !$##*&^))*&%$$#@.
Yes, yes, I can hear you all now...'well she should have known better', stated with a discreet titter of laughter. Of course my check has been cashed, at the end of February actually.
So if you have any suggestions on how to either get my money back, or get the full 1 year subscription on two of the magazines, and a bloody 2 year subscription on the last one, I would appreciate hearing them.
Work has been crazy. As most of you know I work for a division of Emerson Electric...a very large company. I do understatements so well. Emerson Transportation is the private transportation fleet of Emerson Electric. But like all Emerson divisions ETD has to prove it's worth to the great god known as Emerson Corporate, with so much profit turned over each quarter in sacrifice. For the last two quarters it hasn't happened.
Talk about the cost of gasoline, let's talk about the cost of diesel fuel that those big tractor trailers run on. It won't be a pretty conversation. The cost of moving goods from manufacturer to consumer is why milk, bread and cat food are going up a frightening rate. And it will continue to go up until.... Well dear friends, I am not sure what will stop it.
I have been coming home from work and after feeding the cats, then myself, sitting down to read the newspaper and maybe watch some TV...and promptly going to sleep. I want spring, I want sunshine...I want to stay awake after 9 PM in the evening darn it. Part of this bone weariness is the prolonged wet weather, the bones do hate it. Part of it is my worry over retiring, and what changes that will bring...both financial and otherwise. Part of it is the pressure at work...even though I drive a desk not an 18 wheeler. Ah well...
This is enough for this evening, friends. It has felt good to write even though it really isn't anything earth shaking or even very insightful...now I think I will go and count those animals again, and check on the Ark while I am at it.
