No History Tonight
Tonight I am going to rant about the weather...so no history tonight.
On Thursday last St. Louis got a lovely combination of sleet and snow, it started in the early morning hours and went through to the Friday morning rush hour. Sleet, small round balls of frozen rain, sort of like marbles. Try walking on marbles, or driving on marbles. The fender benders were so numerous that the police and highway patrol had difficulty keeping up with them.
Friday afternoon we had some sunshine, but it was cold enough (25) that nothing melted. Saturday St. Louis had both sunshine and temps in the upper 30's so melting occurred to some degree. And this morning we all woke up to an inch of snow that had blown in overnight. It was a gray and cloudy day, but the temperature made it up to 40 so most of it melted.
For Monday we are going to have temps in the 50's, moderate to severe wind, with rain and thunder storms starting in the afternoon and turning into snow overnight and into Tuesday!!!!!!!!!!!!
Please no more, please weather gods, no more. I'm sorry about global warming, but these last few days have made me wonder just what is going on. But then the 115 degree days this past summer made me wonder the same thing.
OK, I'm done now and I feel much better. If I don't get blown away, washed away or buried in snow there will be more later.
