The Times report suggests that this identication means that some other portraits of "Unknown" might now be considered portraits of her. I'm dubious - isn't it possible that any resemblance could be due to the artist knowing about this one, and flattering his sitter?

Could well be - am not sure.
It is interesting to come across something one hasn't seen before though.
